Elisa Strozyk

Wooden. Rugs. Rolls those two words around in your mind hole for a minute or two. German artist Elisa Strozyk has created three variations of these delightful coverings. Strozyk dyes and connects row upon row of triangular pieces as she pulls together the end result of a colored wooden rug, which is so flexible that you can literally crumple it up and toss it into a corner. Gun 1, New York, 1955 photographed by William Klein (x)
“… This seems to be considered my key image… It’s fake violence, a parody. I asked the boy to point the gun at me and then look tough. He did, and then we both laughed… [I see it] as a double self-portrait. I was both the street kid trying to look tough, and the timid, good little boy on the right.”

Creepy Art in Abandoned Psychiatric Hospitals

For a project entitled “1,000 Shadows,” Brazilian street artist Herbert Baglione invaded abandoned hospital wards in Madrid, Paris and other undisclosed locales to add ghostly shadows to the already eerie buildings.

Spindly, stretched ghosts emerge under doors, float through windows and emerge out of objects’ shadows.
